Me before SparkPeople
Next week it will be a year and 4 months that I began Deep Water Fitness Class and the one year anniversary of working once a week with my personal trainer. Both of these ventures helped bring my total fitness to a new (read never-before-seen) level and my total weight loss to 199 lbs (143 with SparkPeople alone). It will also be my 1 year-8-and-a-half-month anniversary with SparkPeople.
There are few words that can truly express my gratitude. Without my success and progress with SparkPeople, I never would have had the courage and motivation to seek out Deep Water Fitness classes at the Bremerton YMCA (with the amazing Melissa Davidson) and find a a personal trainer through the same YMCA. As a matter of fact, it was the flexibility and the gains I made inb Deep Water Fitness that allowed me to progress to a personal trainer.
The man I found (who has been an incredible miracle in my life with his support, understanding, and encouragement) has been an amazing mentor, coach, and friend.
Ross Gilbert - My Amazing Trainer
This is how I look today. It has been an incredible transformation laced with many phenomenal experiences and more "firsts" than I can mention, but they include taking a silver medal in my first Strongman Competition, competing in my first 5K, accomplishing tasks I was told I would never be able to do, and emerging into the world of "dating" after over 5 years of widowhood. While this journey to a healthy weight and an active life are far from over, I know full well that, without SparkPeople (and the amazing fellow travelers I have met on this site), I would not be standing where I am today!
