Duck And Weave

Saturday, April 12, 2014

" You have to know how to duck, because they're gonna throw it at you." Arthur Miller

When you want to get healthy, lose weight, and tone up, it is almost imperative that you take up boxing . You know how it goes duck , jab ,weave. emoticon emoticon emoticon

You have learn to dodge a million questions and temptations. You have to learn to train hard to be disciplined and determined. You always need to be in a fighting stance ready to knock out your opponent.

Why are you eating healthy you look good now. ? Why can't you have a piece of birthday cake? What do you mean you don't want those nachos smothered in cheese .Why are you eating yogurt when you could have ice cream? Why aren't you having seconds. ? Why can't you stay up and party with me to dawn? Why do you have to get your exercise in before we go? Why? Why? Why? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well then jab, cross, and kick. The answer is .....I WANT TO BE HEALTHY AND FIT. I WANT TO FEEL AND LOOK GOOD. I WANT TO BE HAPPY IN MY OWN SKIN. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU. BECAUSE I LOVE ME .

Just keep ducking and weaving. Evade , move with stealth and heart. Stick to your guns . It's your life. Come out of the shadows and stand in the sun. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You can do this !!!!! Hugs, Happiness , and Healthy Living.

Good entry since it can be a difficult balance in some ways when our family expects us to partake of cake or other treats. If one is doing well treats can be built into the diet but for some the temptation is too great to overindulge.
I'm grateful I have an understanding family for the most part and no negativity but I know many deal with disapproval so many have to be strong~

Okay I did have a small piece of b-day cake today, as it was my oldest grandson's b-day this week. I will do this on the odd occasion and then I will make sure to work it off.
I believe that so long as it's only occasional and it doesn't affect your lifestyle (meaning, I had one piece that's fine I don't want more, or everyday!!) It can be done, and you are not depriving yourself completely. It works for me.
Other times I am great at refusing food I do not need. Our blacksmith always brings two dozen Tim Horton donuts and a huge thing of coffee. I do not touch and they never push.

Sometimes our exercise schedule gets in the way of other things that are going on so I have tried really hard to strike a balance so the other parts of my life don't get ignored but it is really hard someday's! I have a very understanding family and since my girls are gone during the school year, it does give me much more freedom than if they were younger and needed help with homework and school projects.
Striking a balance is what we must do because my health is so important to me and I want to be around for years to come and be healthy while I am here.
Thanks for a great blog!
