Start Somewhere!

Friday, April 11, 2014

I've been in a reflective mood this week. There are many areas in my life that could use some improvement. It can be overwhelming to consider all of the changes I would like to make and when I feel overwhelmed I experience self paralysis and I do nothing and that keeps me stuck. Boo!

Saw this quote on a twitter feed today and it struck a chord with me;

If you wait for conditions to be just right before you start, odds are you'll never do anything. #inspiration

Guess I just need to figure out where to start and then just leap in. I know the temptation is to make certain all of the conditions are right, to wait until Monday or the beginning of next month or after my birthday (in July!) or start fresh next year. In reality I know that positive changes can no longer be put off without dire consequences.

I think that tomorrow is a great day for a fresh start and to that end I commit to beginning with one of my favorite activities ..... list making. List making is also a good way to minimize my stress and fear. Once I put things down in writing my angst is lessened and I can begin to work toward goal achievement and check things off the list as they get completed.

There, I feel better already and after a good night's rest I'll be able to face "start somewhere Saturday"!

    I am a list maker too. I make lists off my lists! Possibly I am doing it to avoid the actual list?!
