Random updates from the week thus far

Thursday, April 10, 2014

So far, the word on my father in law is that he did NOT have a stroke. I'm going with this being good news since I've had two grandparents who had them - one resulting in death within a couple of days, the other went on to live for years with additional "mini-strokes" and varying degrees of recovery, none of which were anything close to full. However, the 2 doctors on his case seem to have very different opinions on things. Hopefully we will kow more today. My husband though, is having some trouble seeing his dad, who was always sharp as a tack, struggling.

We got some really good news with regards to my oldest. Anyone following our saga knows that we've been dealing with more red tape than I thought could exist in the world of medical coverage and medication. As of yesterday, one of his 3 meds has been approved and covered. Still 2 more to go, but it's a start.

We saw my middle son's play over the weekend and he did well. He looks good - healthy, happy. His finals are May 8th-13th and then we get him back for a few months.

The youngest got his baseball uniform this week. He's stoked. He's on the Cubs. Last night, I caught him watching the Cubs-Pirates game on tv.

And the audit at work... We passed and that was good, but there was an issue that could've been a finding. There was some chaos with that, not from the auditor, but from me. He saw it as an annomolly. I hope it was, but upon further research, I see it as starting to be an ongoing problem. I'm a year away from my next audit, but mark me words, this problem will be addressed before then.

Hope things work out for your father in law.... sounds like it's good news.
Also, I'm glad that you are finally making a little progress with your sons meds. I admire you for being so strong and sticking with it for this long to get some results but that's what we do for our children no matter how old they are.
You must be so proud of your "actor". I may not be as lucky. My daughter is thinking of staying in Boston for the summer (the apartment is leased through the summer months), but I am also very happy that she has found her place as is liking it.
I used to love it when my son played little league. I miss going to those games.... Enjoy!! Hope they have a great season!

Things are moving forward and that's a good thing. Cute about your son watching the cubs play! Good luck with your FIL and the meds for your oldest.
