Memory Lane

When I started this journey, I was 260 and lost 30 pounds that first summer. I am not sure if I have the ability to shock my body like that again. But, I think I want to try. This got me thinking of what did I do that summer that worked. Here is what I have come up with...

Committed to 60 minutes of cardio everyday.
Walked alot - sometimes 3 or 4 walks a day.
Tracked my food.
Strength trained three times a week.
Never gave up on myself.
Drank tons of water.

What about you? What things did you do in the beginning that helped you be successful in your journey?

menu planned

synched that w/making the grocery list so no excuses -- "I don't have ___".

tracked exercise

weigh and measure to get proper portion sizes

walk, walk, walk

  Tracking was always my best way to guarantee that I stick to the plan.

    Tracked my food. Faithfully. Every bite. I told myself all I would do was get my eating under control THEN I would add exercise. Which I did. I lost 50. Pounds the first year. I was proud, felt fantastic and was happy.

Then, the next year, I lost 20 more. Then year 3 and 4. Ugh. I quit doing those things and have gained back 40 pounds. Seems stupid doesn't it?
