Don't get me wrong when you read the title but...I am trying very hard to stay within my Points - even some days not even using the 26 because I eat a lot of Power Foods (0 points value items like fresh veggies). My metabolism is fighting me all the way. I get out and walk each and every day, drink lots of water too. I am not eating processed foods and totally controlling the amount of salt. How do you gain 2lbs. in eight hours eating celery with a tablespoon of peanut butter (low fat & sugar) and a grapefruit? When I weighed-in at the meeting last night I was 2 lbs. heavier than in the morning. I am drinking lots of water and in the AM I am getting rid of it but by the afternoon I retain it and and my lower legs are puffy and very sore and achy. I am not going to give in but I feel that at my age I have to cut back on calories a little more. That means dropping my daily Points. I know they say not to, but my Doctor has told me that in order to lose I have to eat around 1100 calories tops. The 26 Points daily allowance is approx. 1400 calories and that is too much for me.

I hate this feeling of being discouraged so I'm hoping that by writing it here it will 'leave my system' and I can get on with my day!!

Anybody else out there feeling the same as I do?

Don't be discouraged you will get there! How about trying a compromise. Do the 26 pts on the weekend but cut back to 1100 during the week. It is worth a try and the variation might shake things up. Hang in there kiddo! emoticon

Water retention is something I know all too well. Seeing as you are eating low sodium, that's not the problem. Try and eat as high Potassium as you can. This helps loads with the water retention. emoticon emoticon

I know exactly how you feel! It's so easy to feel discouraged when it seems like your body is fighting you the whole way. I'm going to e-mail you about this as I don't want to take over your whole comments thread with a really, really long comment! Hang in there, though, Gwen! You're on the right path to health!
