I've learned so much from Richard Bernstein M.D. who has had Type 1 diabetes since he has been 12 and he is a healthy 78 now, even though he was told he wouldn't live past 42. His book "The Diabetes Solution: is so worth reading. I got a copy from the library. He has great lectures on YouTube. He says ALL obese people are Insulin Resistant and can benefit from Metformin to lose weight and with time they will develop Type 2 diabetes if they don't change. 95% of his practice is with Type 2 patients.

Thank you for sharing. Not too many people know about or understand type 1 diabetes. As a mom of a type 1 diabetic of 13 yrs, I can really see where you are at with this. it is so important to get thosee A1C levels close to range as possible and your goal is reallyoutstanding. I appreciate your blog and look forward to reading more blogs from you.
