Can't believe we're 4 months into the year. Yet at the same time, I can't believe it's only April. Weird how that goes, huh?
Hope all my lovelies have been doing well. I need to make a round to catch up with what's going on with everyone, so I'll hopefully be popping in to say howdy.
So how have things been going? Pretty good actually. Online work expanded for me just a smidge. Still waiting on the rest of the documents so I can go out and find real work though. The classes I've been taking have been keeping me quite occupied. And we're seeing a lot of friends and getting out and socializing so it's been a fun few weeks since I last wrote an entry.
Food? Amazing. I've been following the things that I've been learning in my nutrition classes and I'm eating plenty of fruits and veggies, staying well hydrated and limiting meat intake, opting for other sources for protein. I'll never really cut that out though but I do try to roast the fat out of chicken and pork before putting it in stews to kind of minimize the saturated fat. I have a venison dinner planned for tonight so that's amazingly lean. Serving sweet potato mash and a happy little salad to go with.
Workout? Oh my. Going quite happily. In fact, I just finished day 10 of my second go at the 30-day Shred and I'm starting to like what I see in the mirror. I'm hoping to go right into the Ripped in 30 workout after this and maybe get where I want to be by the time summer comes around. It's pretty exciting.
I'm yet to get in a proper run now that the snow has melted off. My husband and stepson and I have been spending a fair amount of time outdoors, jogging, walking, playing catch, playing T-ball. So it's nice to get fresh air in my lungs. I hope to nudge them out the door again today. The weather has been really lovely and it seems such a shame to let it go to waste.
I go in to have my blood pressure checked on Thursday. Still mildly dreading it even after the lifestyle changes. I really hope that I've done enough to get that number down from last time. But I still have 3 workouts before I go in and a lot of chances to make healthy food and activity decisions so I'm keeping my chin up.
Hope you all get to step outside and enjoy the great weather!
