Week 13 of Shred

Monday, April 07, 2014

During this past week, I started my 3rd cycle of Shred. This time, I started out with week 1 instead of skipping to another week. I read on the Shred support group that some people have kept week 1 in when they repeat the cycle and still lost weight, so wanted to try this out to see my results.

The Biggest Loser contest ended this past week and I lost 32 pounds (about 12% body weight) in the competition. The winner lost close to 50 lbs, so I didn't win any prizes, but am happy with winning my health! What prize can top that?

Last week, I decided to reward myself by enjoying something that I haven't consumed since the beginning of January. I decided to go with having some wine, since that's not "off-limits" from the diet, as long as it's in moderation. I was really surprised how negatively the wine affected me. I noticed the alcohol effect right away, by the second sip. The next morning, I had a headache and just didn't feel well. I was also extremely thirsty all day long. I used to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, so really was looking forward to this, but in retrospect, I have to say that I could do without in the future. Maybe on a special occasion, like New Years' Eve, but otherwise, I feel it's important to listen to your body and stay away from things that keep you from feeling your absolute best!

Weigh-in today showed 1 lb. lost in the past week, so week 1 does show results when repeated in a cycle! In summary, I'm glad I tried this out. It offered a little more food compared to other weeks and think that helps in keeping your body "confused" about being on a new eating plan.

    Congrats!

I think changing up is a good thing, and since there are 3 workouts to the 30ds you should be good for a while. I know I was doing a different set of 4 videos and switching every week. It took 4 months for my body to catch up and stop losing with that rotation.

That's when I got the 30DS and Extreme Shed and Shred. So adding in those into my routine is letting me lose again.
