P90X: Less Treadmill, Better Calorie Burn! (March Wrap Up)

March Wrap Up



February may not have been my best effort but March sure was a different story. I am so totally stoked at the progress I am making this time around. Let's take a look at my March totals:

WEIGHT INFO
I lost 7.6 pounds! That makes for a total loss of 12.8 pounds since I started back here at SparkPeople on February 9th.

BMI
Starting BMI: 42.2
Last Month's BMI: 41.4
Current BMI: 40.1

I'm still in the obese category. I have one more pound to go before I"ll go from class 3 "very severely obese" to class 2 "severely obese". That's progress!

JEAN SIZE
Starting: 20
Last Month: 20
Current Month: 18

I'm excited to report that I needed to buy new jeans! I'm fitting in the size 18's at the store but my 18's at home are a bit tight on me. So I'm not a solid 18. The size 20's are definitely too big on me. Yay!

MY GOALS
I'm changing one of my goals. I thought I was going to stick to working out on my treadmill but I want to step up my results. I'm going to be doing P90X Lean program instead. I'll still do the treadmill but not as much as I've been doing.

I've been eating well. I've had hardly any temptations. Eating a fat free, plant based diet makes me feel so good that I don't want to "cheat"! I do need to eat more raw veggies at each meal instead of just the starchy, cooked veggies. I also need to eat less fruit. My goal for this month is to balance it all out.

Going to bed by midnight hasn't been working out for me. I haven't been able to fit workouts into my day so I find myself doing it late at night. I end up getting in bed by 2 or 3 in the morning! I've even had a couple all nighters. This lack of sleep is killing me! This is partly why I've decided to change to P90X. I'm spending less time on the treadmill and achieving a better calorie burn. I feel so much better after such challenging workouts too!

FINALLY
I think I could have done better in March but I am pleased with my progress so far. I was hoping to have lost 30 pounds by my birthday on May 7th. I had such a slow start that I don't know if that is doable now. I'm still giving it my best shot. I will not be disappointed if I fall short because I know I'm working hard and giving it my all. I'm just happy to finally see progress!

    You're making great strides in your journey. It's great to change the type and intensity of our workouts to keep the body losing that weight. P90X sounds like just what you needed at this point.
    Remember that good fats are necessary in our weight loss goal. It helps our body to absorb nutritional elements from our diet.
