Trying out something...

Sunday, April 06, 2014

Last week, after my return to Sparkpeople, I was very motivated. Went to a new dietitian, got results (3.5kg/somewhere around 7lbs) during my first 5 days!! :)

But I ended up soooo tired! You see, I eat lunch at work every day and someone else was preparing the food. When I had to do it last week every night I was just exhausted! I must also say I live in Mexico and the "big" meal of the day is lunch, not dinner.

Well, this week I decided to do something different. I cooked today, Sunday, for the rest of the week. Did chicken a couple of ways for 3 days and then some meat patties (lean beef, of course) for the others. I figure I can stick tuna in one of the days to at least complete the M-F thing. I also cooked about 3 cups of broccoli, 2 cups of zuchinni, mushrooms, peppers with onions. Now if I just get some lettuce going I will be fine. Then Saturday and Sunday I can cook whatever at home. I will let you all know how this works out for me. One thing is for sure: I will NOT be cooking every day in this hot humid heat we have in Tampico!!

Do not get me wrong, I love cooking but I share a home with my parents and my mom sells cakes, so the kitchen is always going with the cakes and cookies she sells. Believe it or not, I do not eat the stuff she bakes, or at least not most of the time. I believe my extra kilos come from eating portions that are too big, not watching my carbs (sandwiches, tortillas) and definitely eating too much junk food (you can say I am a potato chip addict, and not just potato chips, corn chips, cheetos, you name it, I love it!...lol).

Anyway, this new journey needs to work for me as I can not bear the health issues all this fat is causing me. Fortunately nothing in my bloodwork, it is just so much pain in my legs, feet and knees when I stand or walk any small amount of time. But I do have to take blood pressure medicine, and at this point it gets difficult to find clothes that fit properly. Anyway, enough of the boring stuff.... and let all of us smile and thank God we have another day to keep on going!!

You've got a handle on what doesn't help so yeah let's get this plan into action!
