DH and I just returned from the ATW in Andalusia, AL and what a great weekend. There were 33 this year, a good turnout, and the hosts did an outstanding job. We stopped by Gant Lake and did a little kayaking before the weekend started.
Dinner Thursday was at Hill top Steak and Seafood. Friday was our first ride and we chose the 26 mile option.
After the ride, we went kayaking at Frank Jackson State park. It rained on us, but it was plenty warm, so we still had fun.
Dinner Friday was at Larry's Barbecue. Saturday we did the 33 mile loop.
Never know what you will encounter on the road.
One of the local schools had messages on their fence made from Solo cups. I thought this is a great idea.
One couple had a wreck when a dog ran out in front of them and had to be taken to the hospital. When we got back to the hotel, DH went to the hospital to bring them back. They weren't seriously injured, but she does have a broken arm that will require surgery. The Chamber of Commerce hosted a reception for us at Springdale house.
Dinner Sat night was at David's Catfish House. Sunday was raining, so we didn't ride, and after breakfast we packed up and headed home.
It was a great weekend, nice weather, good roads, wonderful people. I hope we have more rides like this one over the summer.
