trying to stay positive

Sunday, April 06, 2014

Yesterday Facebook was loaded with a big family celebration for my grandsons 21st birthday
For me quite upsetting and made me both depressed and sad my family life is poor and one reason we didn't tell the kids about surgery they don't care
They avoid us and being in therapy now 2years I still feel useless and unwanted
Harold is doing good and I did get to church. Tomorrow a nurse and therapy maybe a jazzercise class for me!!!!!

Unfortunately, we can't change others. However, you can and are doing what you need. Church and exercise are great ways to beat the blues. Your DH is doing well and that's a good thing, too.

You are a valued person! I'm glad you are here and that you can talk about your feelings on Spark. It sure looks like you mean a lot to many people!!

Church and exercise will definitely help - at least, it always helps me. You are a vital person!

I am so sorry about your family situation. They may realize what they are missing one day.
The good news is that Harold is doing well.

Good luck with your therapy. I hope it helps.

So glad Harold is doing well! The surgery is a big deal and I wish you could have had your children's support but I know how you feel about talking to them about something you don't think they really care about.

Continue to move forward. Be strong! Your grandsons will come to you in time; they know that you love them.

It is so hard to have a rift in the family but trust that it may heal in time and while it exists, remind yourself that you have value and a right to live a strong and happy life. You and your husband are so lucky to have each other!

You can only do and be what and who you are. Sure, it's wonderful to work on being the best YOU possible, but at some point you just are who you are they are who they are.

I'm glad that at least your DH is doing well. Take some comfort from that relationship and fill your life with other people who make your life complete.
