Because of caregiving I have not been attending family celebrations. The drive, getting caregivers to take over, just getting my outfit together, all seemed overwhelming. I finally got to one of the family events. I had a great time> It was my husband's family. I had not seen these people in a long time-and even better my daughter (32) had not seen them also. Sharing this event was awesome!
It wasn't easy. DD did not get here till 1 hour before the shower and we had a 2 hour drive! I have learned to accept what is. She had not felt well and just could not get here earlier.
I have not passenger seat in the handicap van. Obviously I wanted my daughter and me to ride up front. I could not manage to get the passenger seat hooked in. I just set it there. DH rode in the van back set which is far back in the van. Oh well. I went to 3 garages to have them help me put in the seat. It was frustrating. Finally after the shower the guys got that seat in properly. So Gin and I could both ride home up front. And she drove the last half of the trip home. Relief for me! We yakked the whole way! And now it is Sunday morning, I knew I'd be exhausted so I asked for a health aide to come this morning. She has not showed up.!!! I am not at all happy about this. I just called the boss of the agency. I pay for the aides myself.
Anyway being with family was fantastic. I am very grateful we could get that accomplished!
