I survived the cooking class with mom. I got to hide out in the kitchen most of the time, or do the run and fetch for mom. I only got to eat a teaspoon of what we made (I exaggerate, but it wasn't much) and that was most of my lunch. Getting my mom to leave was a chore. She is very social and has to stop and chat with everyone. But we escaped a little after noon. Then we went to Office Max to get mom some printer ink and a protractor and compass. I understand the ink, the other stuff... not so much. Then we went to a couple grocery stores. I couldn't help myself and bought some canned goods, even though I am still working on my pantry clear out. What can I say... I was out of kidney beans. I can't make chili without kidney beans! We got home about 2:30pm. I arranged to take mom's car, so I can take it in on Monday and get the tires rotated and get to DMV. I have decided a new photo for my license is a necessity for my trip this summer if I want the TSA workers to believe that I am who I say I am. My brother claims he can still recognize me from my old license, but I was 150 pounds heavier and had long hair. I don't want to get stuck in LA!
I walked Cooper 3 times today, Did some ST and yoga, and put in 48 minutes on the rower. Cooper misses me when I leave him with my dad, even though they are bust buddies. Cooper gets SO excited when I come in the door. It is so heartwarming.
Now I am baking cookies. I am baking my favorite whole wheat oatmeal cookies, but this time I added ginger, walnuts and chocolate chips. I can't wait to try one fresh out of the oven. I have made them with ginger and currants before, but not ginger and chocolate. They smell really good!
I have nothing on the schedule for tomorrow besides going for a run after I walk the dog. I am thinking I might try to go just a little further than last week... like 1 block further. If my brother's schedule permits I want to sign up to walk a 1/2 marathon at the end of August. I thought about running it, but I don't think I would be ready since I will be traveling most of July. I am not sure how regularly I will be working out. But I would have no problem walking a 1/2 marathon as I walk that distance on a regular basis. Any opinions on whether I should bite the bullet and run, or stick with what I KNOW is possible?
