The great Saturday flake-out
Saturday, April 05, 2014
Two and a half weeks ago I called my rental office to report a large crack in my living room wall. A guy came out, photographed it, and told me someone would get with me in a day or two. Yesterday I called again because, you guessed it, no one ever contacted me. Supposedly someone is going to come out today. We'll see.
I just finished breakfast and I'm watching Bobby right now (sigh...). I'm also knitting an afghan very quickly for my co-worker's birthday, which is April 23. It's a huge needle design that works up very quickly. In fact, I started it on Wednesday and it's already about a quarter done. The color, which the website referred to as "cornmeal," is a lot brighter than it looked on the website, but it's beautiful. It's double-thick, with a pattern of overlapping triangles and diagonals. I hope she likes it.
There's a Food Network show I like called Mystery Diners, about a business that helps restaurant owners run surveillance to find thieving or rude employees. Well, the other night I dreamed that the star (whom I like okay, but nothing special) tried to get with me! I told him to get his married self home, but I woke up ticked off. D***, it couldn't have been Bobby? Of course, even if it HAD been Bobby, I'd have to tell him to take a hike as well. I can't win with men, even when I'm asleep. Grrr...
Oh, well. Time to clean up the breakfast dishes and so some more knitting. Homemade soup for dinner tonight. Anybody want a bowl?
