Great Bike Trainer Workout

Well, after snow-blowing and shoveling 6" or so of snow yesterday, I went about my day, had a good one, and then in the evening found some time to hop on the bike trainer. I completed a cadence interval workout that goes like this:

After a five-minute warm-up at a cadence of 80-85 rpm, ramp it up to 100 rpm for 2.5 minutes and then take it down to 90 rpm for 2.5 minutes. Repeat this cycle seven times for a total of eight intervals (45 minutes).

The workout is simple and easy, given my current level of fitness. But the news here is that after two weeks of being very sick, then pretty sick, and then just plain-old sick--and very weak--I finally felt good and strong all the way to the end of this workout. It felt good to feel so good, and I look forward to getting back in the saddle at some point today.

    Glad to hear you're feeling better! It looks like we've finally turned the corner toward spring (Knock on wood). We only got about 1-2 inches down this way so I didn't bother shoveling but now I have to go finish raking all those leaves that I didn't manage to get to last fall. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    Sounds like a great workout. I did a workout DVD this morning and didn't cough my head off. If we go to Target today, I may do laps to last me half an hour or time myself while getting things that we need for around here. We will see what we are going to do first.
