Oops, where was I?

Friday, April 04, 2014

Friday already, finally I went out of the house today. Dh shoveled a narrow pathway to the road, so I could call a friend to request a drive to Friday Night Knitting Club. and stopped at grocery store for a few minutes.

Special treat at Knitting tonite, our young knitter's mom was there with her 3 month old baby and we all got to pass him around.... Cute, so forget...

Been a rough week, no exercise, unless doing a "bum crawl" up and down stairs counts. But, spent most of the day up yesterday, after spending much of each day in bed. And today, I did sleep in till about 10am, but then was up the whole day. Put on a compression stocking and that sure made my ankle feel good.... I have eaten phenomenally well, even made up extra veggie bags today so I am prepared.

So, we got about 32 cm of snow, felt like I, was living in an ice castle and couldn't get out... not nice feelin....

Anyway, didn't go to class, big letdown, but 3 strikes and you're out.... 2 snow storms, a sprained ankle and the last class and no presentations, can't miss that message.

Managed to read a couple books. Discouraging how long and how difficult things are when you are a little disabled, gives you a whole new perspective... thankfully, I will recover and be able to get back to my old "normal".
Have a nice weekend all.

There's nothing like an injury to give us perspective - I know exactly what you mean. Glad you're seeing progress, though. GREAT JOB with your food intake! The situation in which you find yourself - injured, disappointed about the presentations, and "trapped" by the snow - is fertile ground for emotional eating (oh, wait, is that just me???) and you've navigated those rough waters well! Woohoo! Here's hoping full recovery comes quickly, Lila.

:) Gail

glad you are able to be getting around again. I know I got cabin fever when I was laid up, so you being more active than I am these days, were probably getting pretty squirrelly about it all! keep taken it easy so you don t have any setbacks

I sure hope you start getting around better soon. I;m honestly not sure what I did by my back is NOT happy with me. Didn't pick anything up. No shoveling show. No picking up of anything. I tried the pain pill, the epsom salts bath and now the ice pack. The heating pad is next. If they shoot us, can they shoot us together so we could sit and talk to each other?
