I had bought purple grapes on the discount rack and knew I'd lose them if I didn't eat them. Not wanting to eat the skins so close to the Monday procedure, I soaked them in 1/4 cup white vinegar to remove a bit of mold off them, and then drained water. I cooked grapes on stove top for 20 minutes, and using a potato masher, squeezed out all the juices and let sit for 20 minutes. The remainder of grapes went out for the birds & squirrels. I searched my cupboard and found unflavored Gelatin I've had for a long time. Perfect. Improvising, as always, I put 1 cup cold green tea (that I forgot to drink) into gelatin crystals, stirred, then added hot grape juice into the mix. Its in the frig now. Perfect. I want to have this today because you can't ingest anything red or purple close to the procedure, I'll have a source of food pre-prepared for tonight.
I am so NOT hungry right now. I only ate 3 cooked very small plums this morning and had 2 cups strong coffee with a combination of heavy cream, buttermilk, rice drink, coconut milk with my coffee. Then I drank a mouthful of it by itself and it was thick, rich, had probiotics in it, and was delicious.
I will not be drinking Miralax or Gatorade or Crystal Light - Such a violation to my digestive tract. I'm also having the colonoscopy without anesthesia.
Tomorrow afternoon, I'm going for a first-time colonic hydrotherapy session in town. I want to be very prepared for this procedure, and when its all over on Monday afternoon, With a clean slate, a cleansed-out digestive tract from mouth to anus, I want to start my life all over as I turn 64 on April 11th.
I have HBP. Instead of all these weird foods I toss together with no limits or restrictions, perhaps its time to follow a diet especially designed to naturally lower my blood pressure so I don't end up with a stroke.
