Normally I go right at it, over do my training, and then break myself.
Not this time.
I am not focusing on weight loss, and YES I am gaining.
I am not worried about medals, there are none in the series I'm doing.
I am not trying to break the rocks in my path, just find them and go around.
What this time is.
Focusing on building a base of running and using it as a means to reach an end.
No medals but would love a pair of shoes and some free race entries.
"Hulk Smash" is for the movies, I'm doing more of an ebb and flow- avoid the obstacles.
What I did.
Signed up for the "Mid Michigan Half Marathon Series". Doing all seven races. Would like to keep all times under 8:30 per mile. This is very doable if I eat correctly and train moderate. Any time I win my age division, I get a free pair of shoes. If I win the series points for my age, then all future races are free.
Worked 18 of 25 hours between 2PM yesterday and 3 PM today. This is due to a new menu launch, hired 2 new employees, and training a new supervisor. Finished this off with a 6 mile run in the cold with high winds and dark skies. Funny thing happened- ran the 6 miles in 54 minutes, and I don't feel like I'm going to fall over. Think my body turned past that rough corner of run tolerance. Now I'm tired and resting.
See you after my run Thursday,
