Positive Day 47 When you run an Ultra marathon

Yep I did! 50k! Which is 31.1 miles!!!!!!!!!!! I know right?! I met a gal at my daughters running club and we instantly clicked!! Its hard to find people who LOVE running distance! I was initially training for a spring marathon and then she suggested this 6hr endurance race. Her goal was a 50k. i thought why not?? I ran a marathon and 50k is "ONLY" 5 more miles. So I said what the heck and threw my hat in.
My last training run I did pretty well on pace and felt great
I did my first trail 1/2 marathon while training with my new peep
I did random things through my taper
I can still manage to keep my spare tire with 45 mile run weeks
I still crossfitted through taper
I was 2 pds lighter then last years marathon(I was shooting for 10 but oh well)
I was so nervous 2 days before the race I hardly slept. The day of the race my stomach was so sour. I carb loaded differently before the race and I dont think it was enough.

I walked 3 miles yesterday and I may look like this now but totally looking forward to lifting and leaning out again
I actually ran super slow and was trying to be disappointed with my 6hr40 min finish. Then my friend said this was your first 50k! You cant be upset by a race you have never done before! And she was right!! I will use this experience for the many more ultras I plan to run. Like the 40 mile trail race in December! I have found my new addiction!!!
