The past month has been really hard for me, as I've been struggling with a depressive episode. Last week, I finally saw a psych(iatrist) and had my med adjusted (she just upped it by 100mg), and I'm now on a 5-day happiness streak! I feel that I'm "out of the woods" now, and I'm hoping that this mood improvement lasts.
Besides changing my med, I've been more proactive about taking care of myself. Some of the changes I made:
*walking ten minutes out and ten minutes back in the morning for a total of 20 min of walking in the sunlight since exposure to sunlight helps regulate my mood
*making sure to take my multi-vitamin, omegas, and B-complex to help my mood
*remembering to eat throughout the day so I'm not running on empty
I think that these simple changes, along with the med change, really make a big difference in dealing with my Bipolar Disorder. Has anyone else read the book Take Charge of Bipolar (which is where I got this advice)?
