Got footwear?

Sunday, March 30, 2014

A while back, I got my hiking boots, and did some walks in them. Love at first wearing!

Now the walk to get the mail is about a minute and a half.
Part of the way is muddy.

I just can not bring myself to use my hiking boots for that minute and a half, then spend 15 minutes cleaning them and picking tiny rocks out of the treads.

But now finally, in the barn I got to the box that had my vinyl mud boots in them.

All is right with the world for the next rainy day.

The pattern on them is some kind of weird flowers, and I remember getting them on sale. So I will not have any trouble leaving little rocks in the soles of these at all.

Price makes all the difference.

And I will be eventually using a wheel barrow to move some gravel to make a path for me. In front of the mailbox is the road, which I can not gravel due to the road grader, which seems to take gravel farther and farther away from my mailbox, down the hill.

If only I could talk to that man!

Heh! I hate having dirty shoes! My regular shoes, which are my joggers, got mud on them one day when I was getting off of the bus ... GRRR! I ended up 'scrubbing' them with snow until they were cleaned off and then wiped them down when I made it home!
They are worn out, but they sure aren't dirty, lol!

Good luck with moving the gravel back to where you want it...that will torch some calories for you, just be careful of your back!

Karen, Glad you found the mud boots. Sure hope the weather cooperates so you can carry out your plans for the path. Be sure to get some workouts in the hiking boots once the weather cooperates.

During the spring, I leave my hiking boots just outside the door. That way, I don't have to clean the soles :-).

I can't imagine walking to a mail box to pick my mail up - everybody here gets their mail delivered through our front doors so all we have to do is pick tha mail off the carpet.

Cheers

Trev

Good for you on getting out there and moving. Those hiking boots must have been expensive if you are determined to clean them after each use. Try some bear or other grease to seal them and make the cleaning process easier (maybe easier).

I find it odd that I gave you rubber boots this morning when I hadn't yet read this blog!

Enjoy wearing in (and out!) those new hiking boots!

Getting through each season really IS about having the right shoes to wear! It's good you have your mud boots.

My brother-in-law and his wife lived down a dirt road. It was so full of potholes, that we called it the obstacle course. I was really surprised when they fixed the potholes--they filled them with asphalt!?!
