ALL PURPOSE WORKOUT?

One of the fitness articles on SP suggests that we turn out house cleaning into a workout. Housework can burn calories if you do it right. Just 30 minutes of moderate activity can have legitimate health benefits. Hmn...since it takes 2 to 4 hours to moderately clean my house what have I got to lose?


When you dust don't just stroll around and flip the duster here and there. I can remedy that by spraying the furniture , then scrubbing hard and repeating until I can see myself in the shine.

When you vacuum, perform some lunges. emoticon How about a little kickboxing as we go?



Now mopping can really get me moving! emoticon



I have to be honest though and admit I would rather get the housework done in record time and have time to get in a good walk or run outside. emoticon

    It's also great to knock out this house cleaning quickly to go golfing. Nice blog and it's amazing how many calories are burned from cleaning the house. emoticon

    Yea, I'd rather blitz through the housework to allow time for fun exercise outdoors! I do, however, track that housework - every spent calorie counts!
