Devastated Washington State & How lives have changed (mine included)

Sunday, March 30, 2014

This blog doesn't have much to do with Sparking except for the emotional part of me is having a hard time staying mindful to my program.
For those of you who don't know Washington State had a National disaster a week ago today there was a HUGE mudslide in a small town called Oso,Wa. it took out the whole town leveled 49 home completely and buried over 70 people alive it is so heart breaking..
My DH is one of those rescue/recovery men working there to do what they can for this small town & the people.
I finally got to talk to DH this morning for the first time in 5 days and its so sad to hear the grief and emotion in his voice,,they are just exhausted and it really is mentally challenging but DH doesn't complain he has told them he will stay until things are stable and they stop the recovery process. (This town is app 350 miles from Vancouver Washington where we live and they have very limited phone service now) So I sit by my phone waiting to not miss a call from him emoticon .
I pray these families will be able to find strength in God to heal and that the workers can find as many of those loved ones as possible.
The President has sent the National guard in from 5 other states and Fema.
DH told me that the pictures on the news don't begin to show the devastation these people have endured.
Although there is nothing I can do but sit and worry & pray I do have to take care of myself and thought it might be a good time to pull myself together and see what I can do for my health.
It sure makes me think how small some problems can really be when you see tragedys like this..Take care all friends emoticon emoticon

Brenda, It is going to be hard, but I know you will keep the home fires burning for Trace. I will pray for the safety of all of the workers and volunteers. You are a strong person and you will get through this.

I agree with Dee that using the time to focus on your health will make him proud and will help you get through this. Love you girl! emoticon Stay strong. emoticon

Your hubby is A HERO! I felt so sorry as we heard the story unfold on tv, and thought of you and your family. I worried about you both, but also remember when we lived in AR and tornandos and such happened but we were not immediately effected. So I waited, and so glad you wrote a BLOG!

All those familes, all the members of the town, I have prayed for, and as of today...I will pray with a more personal thought about everyone!

Be brave, Trace IS A HERO, so be as strong as you can.....for HIM!

Love, and Hugs,

emoticon Sometimes we forget about the people at home while the heroes are rushing to aide those affected by tragedies. Thank you for sharing your DH with the world. Prayers to keep him safe and hopefully he'll be back with you very soon.

emoticon to your troubled heart and mind.
Using the time to create a healthy program for yourself and keeping the focus on positive changes would make your DH proud and happy!
