Having a great day . . . visited with a friend at her place. We played in the mud and rain (digging up some plant starts). I was thrilled to see snow on all the hills around our valley!
Last weekend when DH and I were planting the bulbs, we also over-flowed the big pond. While I was cleaning out the wetlands area, I noticed a squirmy gelatinous egg sack attached to some of the debris. I quickly tossed it back in the water. As I looked around, I saw dozens of them. . . . those little Pacific Tree Frogs have been busy!!
A bit later, same thing happened again . . . but this time I brought the egg sack inside and stuck it (this one was not squirmy) in the small aquarium.
We're thinking it's gotta be frog egg sacks because we have quite a chorus of frogs singing out there!
Every day I've been watching the egg sack closely and every now and again, one of the eggs would wiggle.
On Wednesday, one of the wigglers broke free and has been hugging the side of the aquarium. Thursday another one did . . . by this morning, there are half a dozen little guys hanging out in there . . . .and tons more eggs ready to pop.
We've seen a couple other 'things' moving around in there too. We have no idea what all we have in there . . .
This is such a cool experience . . . .
