South Beach Diet -- Phase 1.5, Day 6 -- sick, sick, sick.

Saturday, March 29, 2014

I started feeling really sick last night. Sneezing and coughing my head off. I've been fighting a cold for over a week, but thought I was getting better. Last night, I thought it was my allergies acting up, but my goodness. This doesn't feel like allergies. It feels like an awful cold. I've hardly done anything today. I went to Walmart early this morning. I felt like crap, so I just pulled my hair back and had on stretchy pants, a big tee shirt, and my jacket. Of course, I saw a parent in the parking lot, a neighbor in the store (she actually also works with me, but in another building), and I also saw another person who works at the same place I do and I DESPISE her. She is one of the worst people I've ever met. Of course I saw her when I looked like crap. Anyway, I got my shopping done and came home. I've just stayed on the couch all day. Husband has been in the bed all day because he has had some kind of stomach bug since late Thursday, and it was really bad last night and this morning. He actually had to cancel plans he'd made with his mom for today. I hope he starts feeling better so they can go tomorrow.

Here's today's rundown:

Day 6

Breakfast: turkey bacon, orange slices, coffee with sugar-free French vanilla creamer and Truvia.

Lunch: one portobello pizza (leftover from last night).

Dinner: hot & sour soup from the Chinese restaurant, berry La Croix.

Snacks: crunchy peanut butter, cheese stick.

Dessert: homemade sugar-free iced decaf coffee with sugar-free Cool Whip, Truvia, and sugar-free French vanilla creamer.

Activity: none...although I probably burned 500 calories today sneezing and sniffling and blowing my nose!

I really didn't want to cook dinner or clean up, so I ordered some hot & sour soup from the Chinese restaurant down the street (also got Daughter some sweet & sour chicken). The soup is so warm and comforting, but it helps clear my sinuses, too. I checked into it before I left, and as long as I didn't have the fried wontons, it was still South Beach Diet friendly! I had a nice bowl of hot soup for dinner and it was delicious. I had to put the wontons in a cabinet though...they sure were tempting! I'm proud I resisted. Meanwhile, Husband has had crackers, fried wontons, and toast.

I'm pooped. Signing off. Daughter and I just finished watching You've Got Mail. I'm thinking it's a second movie kinda night.
