Four Hour Zumbathon

Saturday, March 29, 2014

Today was the day to put my endurance to the test. I had found out about two weeks ago, about the Zumbathon. I had immediately checked my work schedule and saw I off. That's all I had to see. I was in an committed. I informed a few people, but no one was interested. I told you don't have to do the whole Zumbathon; just do what you can and just have fun. Well still no takers, so I just went by myself. It was in a unfamiliar location, but I didn't let it stop me from going. I was an hour drive and I even got lost. I wasn't going to miss it. My heart was to set for dancing, sweating and burning calories. After getting lost on my third attempt I finally found the location. I was so, ecstatic! I know it was suppose to be four hours, but they started late. Luck for me I didn't miss a beat. They had three different Zumba instructors lined up for the event. Each of them had their own routines and music. With each instructor the Zumba was more intense. I must say that the last instructor was a male and his music was all Go Go . This is the first for me, but I kept up with each instructors routine. There were a few move that was challenging, however that is where I modified the move. I was told by a lady as she a gave me a high five, that I inspired her because I was the only person in that building that stay on the floor from beginning to end. After the last instructor finished his routine; I went to the bathroom and changed out of my soaking wet clothes. When I came out a Belly Dance instructor was on the floor. Well, I had to go to my Sparkpeople bag and put my hip scarf back on and join in. I had the best time every at my 4th Zumbathon. My next Zumbathon is next month. emoticon emoticon

Oh my gosh that sounds like so much fun. I would love to do something like this but I never hear about these things until they pass. I am determined to find one though and give it a shot.

That sounds like so much fun. I absolutely love, love, love, Zumba! I have only been to about 6 classes at my local Y but I was hooked right away. I have to modify some of my moves right now but I get better every class I attend. I'd like to do a zumbathon. They do one in my every now and then but I don't think it is 4 hours. I believe the one here is 2. You have inspired me to sign up for the next one that comes around. Kudos to you for doing the whole 4 hours. emoticon emoticon emoticon
