Because of my recent shoulder problem, here is some shoulder data...

Saturday, March 29, 2014

When I was in the doctor's office I was asking about the shoulder model. I said the shoulder is really complicated! He mentioned the many muscles attached to the scapula--so I looked them up! Chris

Name the 17 muscles that attach to the scapula:

1. Serratus Anterior
2. Supraspinatus
3. Subscapularis
4. Trapezius
5. Teres Major
6. Teres Minor
7. Triceps Brachii long head
8. Biceps Brachii
9. Rhomboid Major
10. Rhomboid Minor
11. Coracobrachialis
12. Omohyoid inferior belly
13. Lattisimus Dorsi
14. Deltoid
15. Levator Scapula
16. Infraspinatus
17. Pectoralis Minor

An easy to use mnuemonic to help memorize the 17 muscles that attach to the scapula is SSS TTTT BRR COLD LIP.

In my college bio classes we used many mneumonics to remember various facts. I never had to learn this one! chris

Complicated joint for sure! I sure could have used easier methods to remember things when I was in Uni! Understandable why its such a difficult recovery when damaged!

My right shoulder has been causing me sleepless nights. It mostly hurts when I lie down at night and goes down my arm. which one of your 17 shoulder problems could it be? I used to have bursitis but it healed and I think I re-injured it in a fall recently. Your list is quite interesting! Hope you're on the mend. emoticon

I hope your shoulder is healing fast. I have a problem in my left shoulder where the deltoid comes to a point. That area frequently pops painfully, and it's so loud other people can hear it. Shoulders are not to be abused, as we both know.
