Update on Plan G

The vegetarian diet is paying off! I have lost a pound, finally! Plus I have more energy.
I had a little set back with foot and ankle, but we all have those things that happen.
I have been juicing, mostly kale, carrots and apple. Plus eating more veggies of all kinds and fruit, of course. I have always loved fruit.
Also I am limiting bread to occasionally, but eating whole grains more often and organic.
Yesterday was the day for lab work. Next week I visit the Nephrologist. Hopefully we will see an improvement.
With so much information on what to eat and diets out there, maybe it is different for each of us on what to eat and what not to eat.
I still believe in balance and moderation, but am sticking with the vegetarian diet for a time. I will eat fish on occasion, however!
There is a diet called the Full Plate Diet that touts fiber. I believe since vegetables and whole grains have more fiber, that is the key to feeling fuller and satisfied. Therefore, you lose weight because you are not eating empty calories.
Also I find that eating out is very unhealthy. I have to consciously choose to cook more often for the sake of our health. We went out to eat so often! That has been cut drastically.

    I know that eating out is not the greatest. The servings are too big and the calories are too high. Besides you can make things that taste better at home and are better for you. You are right about the fiber and fruits and veggies especially if you do not over cook them. I am not too sure of some of the stuff they add to food to increase the amount of fiber in it. You are on the right track. I hope your appointments go well.

    I'm thinking of doing a modified veggie diet. I really have a hard time getting enough protein per day and so I know I need to add more in the way of grain or bean type protein to my diet. Thanks for sharing all this.
