It's been a while since I've blogged.
The good news is that my daughter, Isabel does't have to have brain surgery. It wasn't as bad of a deformity as they thought. :) What's strange though is that she has always had this condition and NO ONE has ever bothered to explain it to me! You see... On the right side of her brain where the port wine stain is, she has no blood or oxygen flow, only on the left side of her brain. Weird, huh? But she's surviving, and doing okay. I had her tested by a psychiatrist and found out that she has some deep emotional and self esteem problems. She has a slightly low IQ from her brain disorder. Right now, we are waiting to hear back from the judge from her hearing for a claim for SSI. She'd been turned down twice without all of this testing and new diagnosis.
I'm praying that it is approved.
It's been a LONG winter! With temperatures way below normal here in Western Wisconsin. So of course, I gained back almost all of the weight. Plus... I found out that my thyroid level is low, which explains my extreme fatigue, dry skin, not being able to handle the cold, ridges on my fingers, and lady problems.
With the somewhat warmer weather, I'm trying to jump start my metabolism by going for walks every day. Sometimes more than one.
Compared to barely ANY exercise over the winter.
Since Feb. 18th, I've lost 3 lbs. So I guess it's a start. Still kind of depressing that I packed back on some of the weight. But... I will not fail. I have to keep going and not give up.
It's been a year and a month since I've had ANY soda!!
My grandson, Blayne will be 2 years old already in August. Can you believe it?
Time just flies by when you're not looking.
