Today's Challenge

Today's Spark Coach community challenge is to blog about today's coaching session. The challenge is to reflect on measures of success other than the number on the scale. I injured the hamstring in my left leg rather severely nearly a month ago and have been focusing on healing that. During this process I lapsed on logging food and activity. However, I am acutely aware of the healing process occurring in my leg each day. I did lots of ice and rest at first. After a week or so I began going to the gym to get in the pool where I walked and did gentle stretches. That has evolved into a 30-40 minute routine that includes lots of stretches and yoga poses. I have also been getting on a stationary bike where I have worked up to riding 2 miles with no added tension. I am in awe of the body's ability to heal and the learning that is mine in this process. I have a new appreciation for my body and resolve to care for it more carefully and thoughtfully.
