Days Until Summer!

No theme to this blog. Just a recount mostly.

This is what it looks like outside my house today.

Boo!

But on the plus side and as a gratitude, the dogs get to romp in the snow one more time and the “month of mud” has been delayed a bit more.

My backyard becomes a quagmire for a few weeks in the spring and someone, in their infinite wisdom, chose WHITE tile for my kitchen floor. My "month of mud" is really late in coming this year.

Yesterday I got to spend the day shopping with my middle daughter. My oldest is at college and my youngest is away on a school spring break trip, so I have an “only” for the week.

We had a TON of fun shopping at a thrift store and at TJ Maxx and then went out to dinner.

Dinner and some late night caramel corn blew my calories out of the water, but it was really worth it to bond some with my middle baby girl. She is most like me sometimes in terms of personality which is why we make each other REALLY mad sometimes. It has been nice to have a week of peace and fun with her.

We zumba’ed together at 11pm NOT to make up for out dietary “transgressions”, but rather to have some fun and as a last ditch attempt for me to make my 10,000 steps. She's the one who asked me to zumba with her as I had given up on making my steps. Glad to say that thanks to her, I made my step goal after a day spent driving around!

Music means a lot to her and she's reminding me why. In fact she requested and received a RECORD PLAYER for her birthday. I tried to talk her out of it. Doesn't she know how far we have come since then? She's had an iPod since she was a freaking toddler almost. I used to DREAM of the technology we have today as I was lugging my Walkman around.

However, to each her own.

And I'm taking a lesson from her and I'm trying to incorporate more music into my day and not just when I'm working out.

XOXO

One of those 'mud trapper' rugs is a great investment when you have. . . ahem. . .. white floors

Awesome that you got to spend some one on one time with your daughter--it IS a treasure and too many people dont understand the value of it. Enjoy her all you can while you can.

My hubby also got a record player recently--floored me, as he is Mr. Technology and quality, but he will be turning the big 5-0 this year, so he has started to wax nostalgic over things from his earlier years.

Here's to a minimal amount of mud for you, and happy Sparking!

Never thought of it as a month of mud. Too funny.

emoticon to more music too! I have my son choose a playlist every morning to get us in the mood. And I'm putting my favourite tunes aside so as to have a new source of renewal whenever I need some.

Love that your daughter wants a record player. We have one - along with a tower of LPs that both DH and I have kept over time. I have the original Beatles albums, he has the original Rolling Stones and a ton of country and blues. We have our iPods but there's nothing like going down to the basement and dancing to our LPs!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day out. And I'm relating to your month of mud. We have mud every time it rains and have to wash the dog's paws as they come in the house - LOL!!

Have a great day!
