I think it is day three of my new me program. I made a slight slip yesterday - I went back to one on my "old" snacks, honey roasted mixed nuts. I had to fit them in to my overall calorie count for the day so I cut out some carbs at dinner. I did have my half-serving (yes, I measured it ) of cereal before bed and I was able to sleep through the night. My weight was down again slightly this morning.

Question for all of you -- I have always weighed myself each morning as I feel I can make changes if necessary. BUT, I am thinking that it may be better to do it once a week. Once a week weigh-in may help me stay on plan all week long - less likely to sabotage when the scale shows a good number. What are your thoughts?

    Carol - thanks for the tip!! I too am finding that I do better with paper and pencil than with the online tracking.

    The scale - sigh. So many issues; with large, wide differences between individuals.

    This works for me, may not work for you.

    When I am on fire, and really making progress in my SparkJourney and LifeStyle Changes goals, I weigh myself daily in the morning, before anything else. Bathroom visit to pee, then I weigh. I kept a wall calendar bought at Dollar Tree, with a sharpie pen attached by a piece of yarn, tacked to the wall near the scale with a pushpin. I use the regular, original sharpie that is basically too fat to write with though you still can write with it; not the ones for protest signs that are super fat, and not the one that is fine that you can easily write with.

    Everyone is different. And this is something you'll have to experiment with to find what seemingly innocuous things, make THE difference for you. But for me, those three numbers written in big black sharpie ink everyday, is like magic motivation to me to not overeat for the rest of today. There is something impactful about it, visually, that just does it for me. One of the keys to my combination lock.

    I understand others would shudder. And would rather be caught dead than everyone seeing their weight on the bathroom wall, or behind the door, etc.

    This is what works for me.

    I recorded my weight for years, and none of the other ways I recorded, never did anything for me. At all.

    Also I pick one day a week to average the entire week's weight. I use the weekly average as my "true" weight. So every day on the calendar has one weight. And one day on the calendar has two weights: daily and weekly average.

    I do NOT use this calendar for anything else. It's close to the scale for a reason. I have other planning calendars, and this el cheapo one, is NOT them. This is for weight and nothing else.

    Hey JAROL! Thanks for the advice. You know, I had gotten rid of them and then my birthday came and my family thought they were being nice by getting me my favorite snack. :)
