Bathroom scale

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

I think God is giving me a sign that I need to quit using my scale. I let it affect me way too much. Anyway, these last several weeks, when I weigh myself, I have noticed my scale to be a bit wacko. I have a habit of weighing myself more than once (just to make sure the scale isn't lying!) and lately it can vary as much as 10 lbs! in just a few seconds. So now I have no idea if the lower number is right (I doubt it), the upper number is more of a fact (I sure hope not...) or if is somewhere in between. Since I am not getting a true picture of how I am doing as far as my weight, I think it is time to put the scale away and buy a new one in a month or so. This could be a very good thing!

Yes, I did recently change the batteries. Think I will stick with the clothes test for now...

My scale is pretty close to what I weigh at the doctor's office but the last few weeks it shows I have gained three pounds but have been dealing with a yeast infection so I think it is water retention. The tape measure is a better way to go as well as how your clothes fit.

The best to you. Did you try changing the scale batteries? That may be the problem.

Once a week is sufficient, or even once a month

Oh boy, can I ever relate to this! I have been told that the scale is so inaccurate! It doesn't take into account your muscle mass, water retention, cells realigning or many other factors! I feel better and my clothes are looser, that's all that matters now. Here is another witness, use the scale, but not as your primary measure of success!

To each their own. I weigh twice a day, evening and morning, and my wife only weighs 1 or 2 times a month. It discourages her, it only makes me more determined. Both of us count calories and write it down in SP Tracker. It works for both of us but slower for her.
