Europe Trip - Day 4 (2014- Blog #81

Sunday, March 23, 2014

Although I am physically in a total different place today, my own physical activity was not as great as high as yesterday. Today we left the hotel early and found our ways to train station to begin our travels to Germany. I think I have said before that riding on a train is one of my all time favorite things to do. And today was a train riding day!!!!

We zoomed through the French and german landscapes at speeds that topped 200 Mph. What a peak experience! We met up with my other sister and her daughter in Darmstadt where we will be staying a few days. We did do a little walking and touring, but nothing that got my blood going. Will need to run tomorrow.

Here for a few days before heading off to London to see more family....a nice adventure I need.

Day's impression = I got to ride the train!!

Did you take the TGV or the ICE? I have never been to Darmstadt, but I can definintely visualize the French/German landscape, watching from a train window- soooo reminds me of my childhood/teenhood! And I also love trains- minus the restrooms even though I am sure they got a millions times better than from my train traveling days-lol. I miss that part of lifestyle living in the US for sure.
I also love the bakery smell on a early morning when the train comes into a bigger sized train station- it is probably actually a rare occurence to stop that early somewhere like that, but it is one of my favorite memories surrounding trains.

Hope you get your emoticon work in today.
Enjoy!

I would be too scared of an accident. At those speeds you wouldn't know what happened before it ended.

Are you doing any bike riding? Europe is famous for that I believe.

I did some train travel in Germany and Austria in August. Maybe you didn't get your 'blood going' but I bet the scenery took your breath away! Enjoy hearing about your trip.
