Why 39? Why not 30 or a month, or 3 months? I chose 39 because that will take me all the way through April, beginning with today. And I chose today because there is no time like the present. Now is the time, procrastination is just another excuse.
At this point I don't know what changes I can make that will make the difference between losing and maintaining. But each time I'm faced with eating some food that is pure pleasure and nothing healthy about it, I will remember this challenge to myself. Each time I say I'm too tired, or my back hurts, or it's too late to take that walk with my dog, I will remember this challenge.
I do not have a number picked out to strive for, but anything lower than my starting point will be a winner. Five pounds gone would make me a believer! Ten pounds would put me on cloud 9. So let's get started on this Personal Challenge and see where it takes us. The sky is the limit!

I'm reading a book by Eric Berg, The 7 Principles of Fat Burning. He said For years people have been told to lose weight to be healthy. The truth is, you need to get healthy to lose weight. Unfortunately, I think there is too much emphasis in SP to lose weight and not enough on getting healthy. It's a marvelous book that talks about the glands and hormones that affect weight loss.
