No 'poo

Sunday, March 23, 2014

My daughter is trying to go no 'poo (no shampoo) and I am curious to see how it goes for her. I read a blog where one woman who went without using commercial shampoo for 1 year reported that her sense of smell greatly improved.

Of course, she was eliminating a lot of other chemicals also. But I find it interesting how she stated that she was able to smell the dish soap on the dishes her mother used. I think of how much "stuff" is added to the "foods" on the grocery store shelves where the ingredients are added to effect our sense of taste and smell and how some think that food, real food, tastes bland.

Any body here try the no 'poo? Please share your results.

I don't do no 'poo - but I don't shampoo a lot. I wash my hair about twice a week, that's it! I use a low foaming shampoo when I do wash it.

I have never heard about it helping your sense of smell. That's interesting.

I really want to do this but I'm too chicken - it takes a while for your hair to adjust to it. I have a friend who does it and she said nothing about her sense of smell changing, just that her hair completely changed texture. Maybe I'll give it a try after all!

I did it for a year or so. My hair looked so good that strangers would tell me about it. I'm allergic to most scented products, but when I found a shampoo I wasn't allergic to, I got lazy and went back to shampoo. I keep meaning to switch back to baking soda and apple cider vinegar.
