Goalsetting and finishing March

The last week of the month, I assess where I am so I can set goals for the next month. I've raised the intensity and duration of my workouts and I've had nine strong days of eating within my range. I've also ramped up my strength training and gotten through the initial soreness so that's something I definitely want to keep up with. I think I am going to start to plan my workouts in advance the way I plan my food. So I am going to set a goal of two strength training workouts, two runs, and two cardio videos each week. That way I keep up with everything without burning out on any one thing. Usually on Thursday, I take a rest day because it's late in the workweek and I am wanting to go out to eat instead of cook. I have a short list of restaurants and menu items that I can eat and stay in my range. So going out to eat doesn't have to mean blowing my diet.
I am excited about my 5K coming up. I went to the track this morning and ran my 12 laps again. This time, I shaved four minutes off my overall time, averaging 15 minutes a mile. I did intervals of speeding up and slowing down. I think that will help me get faster.
Everybody at work is trying to eat healthier. Wednesday we have planned that I am going to cook lunch for everyone: my version of healthy chicken tacos and charro beans. I offered because I love to cook and we have a kitchen and it will be fun. (Now I get to be the food-pusher, but in a good way).
My husband and I worked in the yard together today. We cleared all the winter growth and mowed and edged and burned more calories. It was nice to be able to get outside like that. We are expecting more rain next five days...
I think I will finally start to see a drop in my weight again. Either way, I know I'm getting more healthy so it will happen when it's supposed to happen.

    Listen to you! You are rocking it :) So proud of your run today and getting faster... that is awesome. And cooking for work - love it! I made my hubby take a slow walk with me today b/c it was so gorgeous out.... my knee hurt after going down the first hill. Ah well. Gotta take it easy.

    Your weekly workouts sound great - so good to get the strength training in there. Keep it up... all this hard work is paying off!

    Making a weekly plan works well I find for workouts too. Sounds like you had a busy time working out in your yard today, WTG.
    How nice that some many iat your work place are also getting on the healthy bandwagon. I bet they are all waiting for that meal you are going to cook this week for them.
