This May Explain My Fatigue

Friday, March 21, 2014

I had my routine blood work done last week and the results were a bit abnormal. The follow up blood check showed that I am suffering from what is called parathyroid disease and possibly hyperthyroidism. These are two separate glands but they both seem to be malfunctioning at the same time.

I have some follow-up scans to be done and I have to see a specialist but my research tells me that these are manageable diseases and depending on scan results, I may be heading for surgery.

I'm almost relieved to have something to explain my symptoms. I'm not just tired and have brain fog because I'm "lazy", I actually have a medical problem. I think I can move forward from here with this information.

I've decided to go to Floater Status for the remainder of the BLC24 so that I can focus on my nutrition and find an exercise routine that I can manage while getting all these tests done and resting when I need to rest.

I have to remember to work on my health. I need to do this so that I can help those around me. I'm a giver and a caretaker but I need some energy to give to and care for others.

Hi Harriet! Glad you are finding out what is up. It stinks being tired all the time. Sorry you are taking time off from BLC, but it is understandable. I understand the having to go to floater status. It is a hard decision to make, especially when you've been there a while. Good luck with further tests. take care...
Hugs,
Rel

Harriet, I am glad that you finally know why you have been feeling this way and pray that things will go well with your scan and that you will quickly be feeling better. Take care of yourself!

So Glad you found out what the problem is, I just went for a lot of tests, been doing a lot of sleeping, throughout the day and all evening...not like me at all..just so tired all the time! I'm on synthroid now, but may need a different dosage.
I am taking the break off, and will decide whether to come back or not, I think I need time to get my health back also! I'm finding all the exercise to be brutal for my body, I have slacked way back..would just like to finish this round.

Hugs Elaine
