Not a fancy blog just a week recap. Last blog I mentioned that Maggie was coming back the next day - well, that did not happened because the weather was just not working for us. She stayed in Fort Erie until Saturday - she was very very happy!!!

Thursday - Interval training on track at the gym. I started with 1k relax (5 laps - 5 min pace - or 8min/mile). After that I was sprinting with short recup break in between each intervals the following... 400m (2 laps) - 200m - 400m =1k; 400m... emoticon that was much more difficult than I anticipated - I used to be able to do this... I guess I lost some of my endurance! I had to cut it to 200m... I did a total of 3k of sprint intervals... I cool it down with 5 laps (1k) at a steady pace - (4:30/k or 7:15/mile). I think I was trying to go at max when my body was still sick and trying to get over my cold/flu and stomach bug... When I came back home, I had to have a nap. I did not even change, I laid over my bed in my uniform!

Finally, Friday!!! I had a day OFF. I started it with 60 min of Hot Yoga - to sweat and 'detox" to move and feel refresh, ready for a long drive - 6 hours - for a night away from home with my daughter Emma.

When I arrived at destination, my back was hurting so much, I just did not want to move anymore. But I know better, so we went for a walk and it made it better. We also had dinner at an Indian buffet - not counting there - I know I had way too much (and I did not mind emoticon )
We went too bed early, we were both tired. The next morning, I got up earlier to jump on a stat bike at the hotel gym (30 min) - the treadmill was busy and I did not want to go outside just yet. We had a lot of walking to do that day, plus the drive back home. We visited the University of Ottawa, walked at the downtown market for dinner at a pub (I had a very healthy meal - same as I had after the HM)

I made it home safe and sound after a very hazardous drive (I went through a complete white out for a good 2 hours...)

Exhausted! I needed the Sunday to catch my breath. 75 minutes of Warm Yoga is the solution, right!?!

17 March - St-Pats! I had a med exam at the hospital to check on my bladder and kidneys, all is good emoticon I was still feeling a bit weak for that so I swap a 5k run (as indicated in my training plan) for a 5k on the Elliptical machine with resistance. At least I did not skipped.

Since Tuesday, my work has causing me a LOT of stress... like too much. The positive side of my job is: it is part of my job to spend some time at the gym, so I GO for it!!!

Quick training recap week 8-9:
Monday 10 March - 21k Outside
Tues - Rest/massage
Wed- 8k treadmill (37 min)
Thurs - 5k with Intervals on track
Friday - 60 minutes Hot Yoga + 3.5k Walk (after a 6 hours drive)
Sat - Stat Bike (30 min, 16.5k)
Sun - 75 Minutes Warm Yoga

Monday 17 March - 5k Elliptical
Tues - 5k Treadmill (23 min) + 75 minutes Hatha (yoga)
Wed - 30 min stat bike (16k)... hum... eating way too much at a Chinese buffet*!
Thurs - Today!!! I swam 1500 meters.
Friday -Tomorrow, hopefully the weather won't be too bad, I am going for 25k. I have an early shift so I will leave my house at 4:55AM and go for my run first thing in the morning. My running gear is ready (almost like the night before a race!!!), my clothes for work are in my bag, my lunch - including a breakfast and running snacks (an energy bar and apple juice) is packed... I just have to set my alarm now and turn everything off! Good night...

P.S. WRT tracking my buffets... thanks my sparkfriends for your reply - I try to track it sometimes and other times I just skip it, I know I can afford a couple of miss once in a while!

And I agree... sometimes it is ok not to track. You are tracking all the time and you do deserve a break every once in a while. I do the same too.

    Sounds like you had a very fun time with your daughter:)

So sorry to read about all the stress with work and traveling. I am glad to read you made it safely with the whiteout conditions! YIKES! I am sure yoga felt great after all that.
