The last year has really been a challenge for me with my eating habits. I stopped tracking meals and didn't exercise at all pretty much. So, of course, my weight is back up to where I was two years ago. I won't lie...it's been pretty hard. So much easier to grab a bite to eat out with the family and so easy to snack, snack, and then wolf down a lunch in 30 minutes. Breakfast on the go? More like Starbucks brewed coffee with cream and snacking during lunch. Too easy to eat without thinking and making excuses for exercising. Too tired. Papers to grade. Not enough time. When I realized that a recent BP reading was higher than ever before, I started to think about it. When my daughter, who is 13, had a blood test come back with slightly high cholesterol, I realized it was time to get it in gear and make changes for the whole family.
