In the middle there was kindness

I wanted to start with in the begining. But, I am not at the begining. I have been struggling to get traction since 2014 began. I went to the doctor, My A1c was up not down. He encourage me to go easier and make small steps. Although I have blogged about it. I tend to be an all or nothing kind of thinker and this has been the cause of me being too hard on myself.

So I want to take a new and hopedully simpler apprach that is kind. This weeks goal is to be mindfull of being kind to myself. Planning my eating in a kind way.

I will plan todays 3 meals and some snacks. I will try to eat them. When other food options come up I will ask myself:
1. am I thirsty
2. am I hungry
3. is this food kind to me both mentally and physically.
4. am I chosing this or something else

I think this will be kind and helpful.

    I hear you about "in the beginning..." I choose to use "in this moment..." I have had some med changes and poor food choices so my A1c is up also. I liked and can implement at home some tips from the following article:

    Those are great questions! I love your doctor -- he too is an advocate of the small step!

    I used to tell my students -- you can't jump to the very top of a ladder, you have to advance up each step one at a time. Good luck!

    Yup yup yup! Love those questions. I found it useful to keep a journal so when I asked those questions I could see it on paper when I wanted to eat something I did not plan for. My blog today... I don't know if it will help but I'd love for you to come read it. Blessings and God Speed. Justyna
