Ok - so i am perhaps a unique person who does not get motivated with a streak, who does not like to track anything against a plan, who absolutely abhors logging in data in the daily calorie tracker and a sure shot way for me to fail in anything is to give me a deadline. i will simply run away or wait till the very end to scramble and get things done.
Dont get me wrong - i do a whole lot of planning and tracking in my professional life (I am a project manager and doing quite ok at my job) and i do like it. But somehow when it comes to my personal life and my goals like losing weight and becoming fit - i hate to put a plan and timeline to it. I dont know why? Maybe it starts looking like a project to me and unconsciously brings in the stress of deadlines and planning etc. Anyway - the bottom line is what i do for a living is not going to work for me when it comes to my life.
So what do i do? I treat each day as Day 1 for me. I plan to make the best utilization of my Day 1 and get it done. If i work out and eat healthy each day without bothering about breaking a streak or following a schedule - i think my day is made.
