Getting back on track

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

It has been a hectic and draining few weeks. My dear mother is on the road to recovery after she had a stent placement and the Dr. is working with her medication to get her Hypertension under control.
I have two younger sisters, and between the three of us, you would think it wouldn't be so overwhelming to take care of her, but since she is a widow and lives alone, trying to be with her 24/7 has been a bit hard. Thank God for my children, and nieces who have helped.
Dear Mom, has been so full of fear and anxiety, and who wouldn't blame her, that it has been a big obstacle to her returning to full health. A trip to ER, and a new medication to help her sleep, will hopefully bring her some relief.
Now for my healthy eating habits: I did pretty good for a few days, then the stress got to me and down hill I went. sigh... so I am dusting my self off, and starting over. My goals for the week are to track all my food and slowly add some fitness in. I am definitely not throwing in the towel, if anything, I am going to do BETTER. Mom's health issues are, in part, related to her being overweight and her unhealthy life style.

Hope mom continues to recover smoothly. Use her health issue(s) as a catalyst to be certain you're not going to be ending up in the same place. emoticon emoticon
