As many of you know I've been blessed and honored to lead a team of new Sparkers. The word blessing is an understatement. These folks are really keeping me on my toes!!! There are all sorts of things I didn't realize I didn't know about the site. (I do now, lol)
But here we are, one week and one half into their new found journey and I can feel the tiny tide of discouragement starting to creep into our otherwise peaceful little cove. You see, they are doing what many of us have and will continue to do: We find a successful person and we compare ourselves to them. Naturally, being successful, means they have been at it a bit longer than we have and many of us, myself included, decide that the measuring stick is pointing to the category of "failure." Trust me, I been there and I have done that. (More than once I might add.) So we throw our hands up and sorta utter a furtive "What's the use."
Come closer dear ones, I've gotta secret for you: "It's your journey and there is no one quite like you, anywhere on the face of this earth, in all of the universe plus the entity of God's creation." You are you and with you comes your own unique set of requirements.
We are no longer in middle school. It's okay that the cool kids don't invite you to their lunch table or their parties. You are you and you will succeed upon your own merit.
I get sucked in from time to time myself. I see the latest and greatest and I say, "Yup, uh-huh, that's for me!" Then I discover its not and usually I've set myself back a few days.
I don't care how long you Been-O-Sparkin' its easy to get way off track and find you're in a land you're not familiar with. I think the Goal Board is a great idea. It gives us an opportunity to set some reasonable goals that are ours and ours alone and then they right there, each day when we log on, to review.
No one said this would be easy but it is sure fulfilling to know your making progress. Do it your own way!!!
If you are of a mind to please send love, thoughts and intentions to our new friends.
