I Have Committed

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

My sister-in-law and I share a birthday, though she is slightly older. Yesterday I phoned her to wish her a 'Happy Birthday' like I do every year. She was very animated on the phone and told me that she would call me tomorrow to tell me something important.

Today was the day. Turns out she and I have more in common than I thought. She has been walking/running all winter and has committed to a 5K in July. Filed the paperwork and her entry fee. All her kids are going to do it too (which means they have been working out too) and the grandkids. Her middle son is the Cross Country and track coach for a rural school where this run will be held (a fund raiser for the school). So I told her about my journey over the winter - walking home, changing my eating, weight loss - and she has adopted a very similar diet too! OMG. She is bringing me over the information this weekend and I am so excited. I told her I would definately do it. Definately.

So I have committed to a run in July. I've got my shoes (how did she know?) and my mission. Wish me luck!

Question: you just found out when you called her? If she lives so close that she can bring the info over to you I would think you and her would have talked about all this before.

Glad she and you are doing the run together.
