South Beach Diet -- Day 9

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

My SIL has been going to Weight Watchers off and on for several years, and is currently back there again. (She's the one I have regular weight loss meetings with). She has shared something with me from WW in the past, called "non scale victories." This is where you accomplished something regarding health and/or wellness, yet something that had nothing to do with the number on the scale.

As stated in an earlier entry, I've been home today with a sick kid, and I haven't been feeling so great the past couple of days, myself. So we're home today. Usually, this is a very difficult thing for me. Being home with cabinets and a fridge full of food is very tempting, and I often sabotage myself.

That is my "non scale victory" for today! It actually just occurred to me a little while ago that I hadn't nibbled on food all day. I'm really proud of myself! I just turned on the first show of a series called "Heavy," about extremely overweight people trying to get healthy. I've watched this show before, but it's been years, so I'm going to restart it. I'm also going to do some more research on how women can best lose fat and build lean muscle; what exercises to do, what foods to eat and avoid, etc.

So, here's today's rundown (DAY 9!!!)

Day 9

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon.

Lunch: two slices of leftover cauliflower crust pizza (tomato sauce, cheese, black olives, mushrooms, and all-natural pepperoni).

Snack: sugar-free strawberry Jello with sugar-free Cool Whip.

Dinner: Slice of baked ham, roasted acorn squash, and South Beach Diet "Surprise Mashed Potatoes" (which is really steamed cauliflower that you puree).

That's all I've had so far. I may have a little snack or a sugar-free popsicle or something later. If I do, I'll be sure to come back to record it. I'm feeling better and hoping I can resume my exercises tomorrow! I'm ready to DO THIS.

Oh I love Heavy, I watched the series when I first started in January and it really helped to keep me on track and motivate me. I finished that and I can't find any other seasons otherwise I'd keep watching but now I am watching extreme weightloss.
Anyways sorry you're still not feeling well, get better soon!
