Good news!

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Went to my TOPS meeting Monday evening.
Even though I ate a sammie for breakfast,
my weight was down 3/4 of a pound. It was
"good enough" to rate Loser of the Week!
It also added $5.00 to my new clothing
fund in the pink piggy!

I also got my blood work back from Sat.
Several important numbers went down.
Several "markers" for my kidney damage
are "WAY" down. Still "high" are the HDL,
and triglycerides. However, the tri's are
down 5 points. Unfortunately the HDL is
also. My liver function is back in normal
range (AST values are 7-37, last time it
was 47. This time 33) GOOD NEWS!!

HGBA1C was still high, 7.9 (should be
under 7, better under 6.5).

So now, I need to work on maintaining the
good, and getting the tri's down, hdl up,
and A1c down to at least 7, hopefully lower.

Have gotten my walks in for 2 days this
week so far, and weight training today for 15 min.
5 out of 7 days last week, my steps were over 2500.

The weight lose (I was in a plateau) and the
lab work results have given me a much needed
confidence boost.

You're doing great! Keep up the good work! How satisfying it must be to get those numbers from the scale and the bloodwork and be able to see your progress.

Good for you! Like Morticia Addams says, you can get your triglycerides down by avoiding processed carbs and of course by sustaining an exercise program.

The best way to get your triglycerides down is to cut back on carbs. I did this by eating low glycemic veggies, low glycemic fruits, seeds, nuts, legumes, and low fat dairy for my carbs while culling processed foods. It also keep my A1C down. Congratulation on the weight loss!!
