A different way to think about water.

Monday, March 17, 2014

I stopped drinking A LOT of water and other fluids. Why drink when I'm hungry? Why drink because someone else says I MUST drink 8 - 8oz of water a day without an ounce of science to back it up. I'm not dehydrated. I'm not thirsty all the time. I'm so happy not to carry around a water bottle everywhere I go. I drink when I'm thirsty and I eat when I'm hungry.

It's like a lot of other advice. It's basically a good and healthy thing if hydration is an issue. a healthy lifestyle as a whole is the solution.

I agree that we as a society are obsessed with the next thing to stick in our mouth. (Food or beverage)
But I have found that drinking the water at the 4th hour when I am starting to feel hungry buys me some time and its also good prep for your stomach to digest the food. So at the 5th hour I eat. Water is still the vice I need to distract me from mindlessly eating. But I hear what your are saying...I think Dennis Leary or George Carlin that noted how ridiculous it is that everyone is now carrying around water...Just drink before you leave your house ...how hard is it?
That said I do carry a travel mug with mint tea that i sip over several hours.
